Havanese are an excellent breed choice for families with children, as they are gentle, affectionate, and playful! They are very open-hearted and get along well with other animals too! Their small size makes them easy to live with, travel with, and care for, so they are an excellent companion breed for an older person as well! Havanese are considered a hypo-allergenic breed, non-shedding, and odorless, so that families suffering from allergies can make them part of their family too! |
|
Our Havanese are CERFed annually at Cornell University by Veterinary Opthamologists at the Companion Small Animal Clinic at Cornell as well as at Veterinary Specialists of CNY in Syracuse, NY. CERF is a screening of the eyes for the presence of eye disease, including PRA and cataracts. Our Havanese have normal, healthy eyes, and therefore we are always optimistic about the eye health of our puppies.
Our Havanese are decended from foundation stock Havanese from the Fantasio bloodlines, although we have introduced European and Swedish bloodlines as well . Our Havanese are innately kind, joyful, intelligent, highly social, and very affectionate! |
|
The Havanese breed are a variety of beautiful colors and marking patterns, including True Chocolate, silver/gold/red sable, black, blonde, black and tan, and brindles, in solid, parti, pied, and tri markings! The coats of our own Havanese are neither curly nor straight, but wavy or slightly wavy. It is typical that female Havanese weigh between 8-11 pounds as adults, and full grown male Havanese typically weigh around 11-13 pounds.
Our children have watched the birth of our Havanese, have loved them and have learned the responsibility of caring for them too! Havanese are a truly joyful and loving breed, and they are happiest when they are with their family or their special individual!
