The Xoloitzcuintli. pronounced: (Show-low-eets-queent-lee). Xolo or Mexican hairless, Is an ancient breed, dating back to Pre-Columbian times. It is also the National Dog of Mexico. The breed is known for it's Alert nature, Loyalty, healing warmth, and mystical abilities. The Xolo is an alert dog, very intellegent, and athletic, making it an all around great companion for Obedience,Therapy, Conformation, Agility and Home. Both coated and hairless varieties are clean and easy to care for. In the hairless variety, the skin is fine and soothing to the touch. Not only are they great companion's, people love the added benefit of their warm skin. In acient times and to today, people have benefited from the Xolos healing heat to sore aches and pains. They are a popular companion to allergy and asthma sufferers as well. The coated variety is short haired, clean, neat, and easy to care for.
Remember pets are a responsiblity for their whole life. They give so much in love, protection, companionship, and loyalty. They also have needs to keep them a happy well balanced pet.
At camino, we will take back our Xolos if at any time the owner can no longer keep their pet for any reason. This is to insure our Xolos never face hardship, dog pounds, or neglect in any way. Things happen, so never feel guilty to contact us for help.
